What a fiasco!

Let me just tell you about my day yesterday. I just started a new semester at school, and the disk that came with my textbook (which cost $100) was defective. Well, that's just GREAT! I have to exchange my book. So, thinking that the bookstore schedule on the internet is correct and they close at 6:00pm, I took my lunch break from work to drive all the way to the school. I get to the bookstore, book and receipt in hand, and the freakin' line is almost 40 kids long! I knew I couldn't even wait for a line of 10 people and make it back to work, so I just left. That was pretty much a whole hour wasted. I left work at 5:00, drove straight back to the school, got in line, which I was about the fourth person in line. This was going to be awesome. In and out! Then, out of nowhere, the power goes out. They throw all of us out of the bookstore. About 25-30 people and I were standing outside the bookstore in confusion. So, I'm just standing there, right next to the door, because I was not going to lose my good place in line. About 15 minutes go by, and the security guys come by and tell us that there is about a whole block without power and that it was going to take a long time for the electric company to fix it, but that the bookstore closes at 8:00pm (not 6:00pm like the internet said.) Just about everyone leaves. But, not me!! I decided to stick it out. There was no way I was leaving now! About 45 minutes go by. It's muggy and warm outside. So, getting kinda sticky, I just endured. Then, the lights come back on in the bookstore. I stand up and gather my things and get back to the door. One of the staff comes to the door, unlocks it, sticks her head out and says that it's going to take 45 minutes to 1 hour for their systems to come back up. You have got to be kidding me!! I looked at this one other person standing there with me, and said, "There is no way I'm going anywhere!" So, 25 minutes later, they unlock the door and tell us to come in. You cannot imagine how great that cool air felt in there. I exchanged my book, went home, ate supper, installed my software with no issues, and finally could take a deep breath. Whew! If that disk hadn't worked, I was going to scream. Now, I just have to learn how to use that damn software.
